Greetings AAMS Members!
As September comes to a close, and we inch closer to the AMTC in Seattle, I want to share a brief re-cap of recent events.
Yesterday, I traveled to Washington DC as an invited guest to the AMOA Board Meeting. I had the opportunity to brief the AMOA Board on the progress of AAMS leadership and staff on our work on AAMS’ 3Rs (Reinvent, Redesign and Reinvigorate); the current developments in our advocacy efforts, including ongoing discussions with MedPac; as well as other aspects of AAMS work going forward through the end of this year. |

Matt Zuccaro, President of HAI, was also in attendance allowing for a series of discussions on how AMOA, HAI and AAMS can work together on issues that are affecting our industry. In particular, we spoke at length about our concerns regarding current interaction with the FAA and MedPac; as well as the persistent safety efforts underway that continue to improve operations industry-wide to protect our crewmembers and the patients we serve each day. Yesterday’s meeting reinforced the fact that there are a multitude of areas in which AMOA and AAMS support each other’s efforts. I’d like to thank AMOA for the invitation to contribute, and I look forward to continued collaboration moving forward.
By now, many of you will have made your plans to join us in Seattle for the 2013 AMTC. There are so many cool things planned this year! The MedEvac Foundation would love to see you participate in the Rock ‘n Play fundraiser on Sunday evening – enjoy a variety of interactive games, simulators, and attractions at GameWorks in downtown Seattle. Once the conference kicks off on Monday morning, you can choose from 160+ education sessions over the course of the 3-day event, AND we’ve added a third keynote session on Wednesday morning. Additionally, Seattle marks the debut of the AAMS Masters Series, interactive sessions specifically designed for CEOs and other senior level executives. And finally, make plans to catch as least a portion of the annual CAE Cup (formerly the METI Cup) – the scenarios promise to be as exciting as ever!
Be Safe in all you do, I look forward to seeing you at AMTC!
