A message from AAMS CEO, Rick Sherlock...

September 26, 2012

Dear AAMS Members –

This week I write to you from the beautiful “City of Trees”, Boise, Idaho, where the National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO) is in the midst of its annual meeting. In conjunction with the annual conference, NASEMSO has invited AAMS to participate in a multi-disciplinary working group representing NASEMSO, ground ambulance manufacturers and ground ambulance purchasers. The goal of the group is to develop a uniform set of recommendations and guidelines for ground ambulance safety standards, including the design of ground ambulances to improve safety, increase cost effectiveness, and minimize state-to-state variations.

This was the first meeting of the working group and additional meetings are planned over the next several months. I would like to thank NASEMSO for including AAMS in this beneficial project. I am pleased to be able to participate in the working group on behalf of our critical care ground members.

As always, feel free to share your thoughts, comments, questions or concerns at rsherlock@aams.org. I look forward to seeing you at the AMTC in Seattle in October!

Sincerely,

Richard Sherlock
