What has your organization done to raise the bar for safety? 

Tell us how you have worked to achieve a higher level of safety in air medical aviation.  If you are the award winner, American Eurocopter will contribute up to $10,000 toward your future efforts of promoting safety within your organization.

Who is eligible? 

All AAMS Programs and/or Operators from the smallest to the largest are eligible for this award, regardless of the number, or type of aircraft you fly.   You are free to nominate your own organization.  Note: this is not intended to be an individual award.

What are we looking for?

Is your organization an industry leader in promoting safety?  We want your new and innovative ideas to promote safety and help raise the bar for the entire air ambulance community.  Have you risen above the industry and distinguished yourself by implementing innovations that could be successfully adopted by EMS programs or operators to improve EMS aviation safety?  Possible areas of innovation may include:
 

• Risk Assessment Tools
• Safety Procedures
• Quality Management
• Communications Systems
• Crew Training
• Coordination with ground EMS

Has any program or operator committed resources for equipment and training that exceed expectations and go beyond the norm to enhance safety for all of us?  We want to encourage innovation and creative thinking and want to share what you are doing with the rest of the industry.

How could you use your award? 

As part of your nomination, tell us how we can help you.  American Eurocopter will contribute up to $10,000 to help the award winner's efforts to promote safety.  Maybe you could use more money for additional crew training.  Maybe you need another set of NVG’s, or other safety equipment.  Perhaps you need some financial help developing more GPS approaches, or as seed money to develop a new innovation for promoting safe operations.  You tell us, and if you win, American Eurocopter will make this outstanding contribution to your efforts in promoting safety within your program.  The award money is intended to be applied directly toward the safety effort, and should not be applied to general overhead expenses.

When are nominations due?

Nominations are due by Thursday September 20th, 2012.  American Eurocopter has appointed a blue ribbon committee chosen from the industry to review the applications and determine the winner.  At the AMTC Awards Dinner and Banquet in Seattle, WA (October 22nd-24th, 2012), we will honor and share the specifics of the winning safety program with the industry.
